WASHINGTON — The National Association of Counties sought to highlight the importance of county governments and the services they provide during the group's legislative conference this week in the nation's capital.
Association President Chris Rodgers, a Douglas County Board member, noted that the gathering featured an ideologically diverse slate of speakers, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Sen. Jim Risch, R-Idaho.
