The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will begin looking for budget cuts next week to cover a shortfall, Chancellor Harvey Perlman told faculty and staff in an email Thursday.
The shortfall was about $3.5 million when Perlman first discussed it during his state of the university address last September. That amount included $2 million from a carried over deficit, $570,0000 in increased operating costs and more money associated with information technology support.
