Parched Omaha soil soaks up record precipitation
While gardeners won't have to water their plants for the next week or two thanks to the 1.34 inches of precipitation that fell on Omaha, they will have to take precautions with the low temperatures. Some plants can't handle the 24 degrees forecast for this morning.

The recent bizarre weather may deprive the Midlands of some of its spring color, but the icy snow will have been worth the price — assuming temperatures didn't drop too far overnight.
For the first time in six months, Omaha received more than an inch of water in a 24-hour period — and it was a daily record at that.
