4 organizations, including 2 in Omaha, split $109,500 in tourism grants

LINCOLN — Four organizations have been awarded grants totaling $109,500 for working to secure national events, the Nebraska Tourism Commission said.

The Omaha Sports Commission will receive $50,000 for the NORCECA Continental Volleyball Championships, which feature eight international teams, and the Omaha Equestrian Foundation will receive $24,500 for recruiting and promoting Olympic-caliber competition and riding events.
