Scam artists claiming to represent the Omaha Public Power District are targeting the utility's customers with fraudulent billing.
An OPPD spokeswoman said Tuesday that a number of customers have reported being contacted by callers demanding payment on supposedly overdue bills. In some cases, the callers say money is needed for installation of new equipment.
