Omaha company gives young cancer patient's house a makeover

Omahan Eli Haley, 3½-year-old cancer survivor and all-around go-getter, has a pointed message for the doctors and nurses he runs into during his frequent health checkups: “I'm not sick anymore.''

Eli — in remission after a battle with retinal blastoma that included 12 weeks of chemotherapy that cost him his hair, and five weeks of radiation and surgery on a tumor that cost him an eye — is watched “very closely'' by his doctors, said his mother, Casie Haley, 34.
