New Papillion plaza is making a splash: Park takes place of seldom-used parking lot
Papillion's $1.3 million First Street Plaza park debuted this week, just in time for Papillion Days. The project, at First and Washington Streets, transformed an old parking lot into a small park/community space with public bathrooms, a fountain, a small splash pad and a stage.

Gail Johnson tried to corral her two squealing kids away from a splash pad at Papillion's new First Street Plaza one recent afternoon.
“OK, you two, let's go!” she told a dripping Hayden, 7, and Rigley, 3, as they dashed in and out of the streams of water.
