A north Omaha property that was once home to a public housing project is being sold to a group planning a major neighborhood revitalization effort.
This week, the Department of Housing and Urban Development gave the Omaha Housing Authority approval to sell a 23.7-acre site where the Pleasantview Homes development once stood. Built in the 1950s, the project near 30th and Parker Streets fell into disrepair and was plagued by crime.
