LINCOLN — The Nebraska Supreme Court has upheld a murder conviction in one of Omaha's oldest cold case homicides.
Jerry Watson is serving a life term for the 1978 first-degree murder of Carroll Bonnet, a 61-year-old hospital worker found stabbed in his Omaha apartment. DNA testing of evidence collected from the apartment linked Watson to the killing, and he was convicted in 2011, more than three decades after the crime.
