NPPD defends $5,250 plane trip to Arizona conference
The 11-seat Beechcraft airplane that Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman suggested buying from the University of Nebraska Foundation earlier this year. A similar plane carried four NPPD employees to a conference in Arizona this week.

LINCOLN — It's a tale of two states when it comes to the use of a state airplane by the governors of Iowa and Nebraska.
In Iowa, Gov. Terry Branstad sold the state's three planes and laid off the pilots in the 1990s as a way to cut the state budget.
