The U.S. Geological Survey and state agencies are taking samples from the flood-swollen South Platte River in Colorado and Nebraska.
Dave Rus, hydrologist with the survey's Water Science Center in Nebraska, said Friday that crews took a sample at Roscoe, Neb., and will take additional samples next week at other sites along the South Platte as well as the Platte River in Nebraska.
