Nebraska DEQ director stepping down

LINCOLN – Mike Linder is stepping down as the state director of the Department of Environmental Quality, Gov. Dave Heineman announced Tuesday.
Linder, a 56-year-old attorney, is taking a legal job in the private sector. He was appointed director by Gov. Mike Johanns in 1999 and has been with the department since 1986. His last day as director will be Dec. 20.
