Landlord to stand trial in tenant shooting

PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. — A Cass County man accused of shooting a tenant before fleeing the state waived a preliminary hearing Thursday, automatically sending his case to district court for trial.
Steve I. Harrod, 64, is charged with first-degree assault, use of a firearm to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. If convicted he up to 50 years in prison on each count.
