KIMBALL, Neb. (AP) — The police chief of the western Nebraska town of Kimball has been placed on administrative leave as officials investigate reports of deception.

Kimball Mayor James Schnell confirmed that Police Chief Mark Simpson was placed on leave March 15 while officials investigated reports of “suspicious fallacies” regarding Simpson. He declined to elaborate on those reports, saying privacy policies regarding city personnel prevented him from doing so.
