Nebraska proved once again on Tuesday that 96 degrees can feel hotter than 101 degrees.
At its worst, Tuesday's tropical air gave the day a heat index of 106 degrees in Omaha, according to Scott Dergan, meteorologist for the National Weather Service. That was sometime after 5 p.m.
