LINCOLN — The Nebraska Supreme Court rendered what could be called an activist decision Friday in an effort to head off a possible act of workplace violence.
In a 4-2 split opinion, the court majority instructed a lower court to order Ryan J. Zimmerman to have no contact with ConAgra Foods, where he was accused of shooting at window washers in 2012. Authorities believed he was angry at his estranged wife, who works for the company, but a jury later acquitted him of the gun charges.
