Jim Fagin, a former broadcaster and aide to two U.S. senators, often said he “beat the odds” with his pancreatic cancer.
“I've had four good years to get closer to my family and see three grandchildren born into this world,” he wrote in a Sept. 17 email to a friend. “They know I have a strong faith, am unafraid and have enjoyed my life and my family.”
