Interstate 80 death a sobering safety reminder: Pedestrians must use caution
The eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 near 52nd Street were closed for a while Tuesday morning while the Nebraska State Patrol and Omaha police investigated a fatal accident.

Pedestrian fatalities are relatively rare, but Tuesday's death on Interstate 80 in Omaha was a sobering safety reminder, officials said.
Michael D. Holcomb, 44, of Council Bluffs was struck and killed by a semitrailer truck on eastbound Interstate 80 near 52nd Street. Reports to 911 indicated that Holcomb was hit in the far left lane about 10:35 a.m.
