Knit Your Bit needs help from knitters and crocheters who want to honor veterans, said Ruth Heer of Blair, Neb. She's head of the local chapter of the New Orleans-based national group.
Knit Your Bit, which was inspired by a World War II campaign, makes scarves for veterans in Nebraska and those attending events here.
