Heineman vetoes retirement plan bill; Nordquist files for override

LINCOLN — Gov. Dave Heineman vetoed a bill Monday that aimed to shore up retirement plans for school employees, judges and State Patrol troopers.
In his veto message, the governor said he agreed with the short-term solutions in Legislative Bill 553 but disagreed with its longer-term provisions.
