Grand Island skid loader spree means prison, $44,278 in restitution

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A man who stole a skid loader and damaged an ATM, a school, yards and fences in April has been sentenced to 15 to 18 years in prison.

Bryce A. Malesker, 41, of Grand Island received the sentence Friday in Hall County District Court for theft by unlawful taking. He was also sentenced to one year and eight months to five years in prison each on one count of operating a vehicle to avoid arrest and three counts of criminal mischief for damaging property belonging to the Five Points Bank, the Grand Island Public Schools and Tom's Tree Service.
