Grand Island asks for do-over on veterans home

LINCOLN — Grand Island leaders urged state lawmakers Thursday to restart the site selection process for a new veterans home, hoping to keep the facility in their community.
Several veterans, however, told the Government, Military and Veterans Affairs Committee to get behind Gov. Dave Heineman's decision to build a new $121 million home in Kearney.
