Grace: Owners of Gold Coast home cherish, preserve their link to Omaha's past
Gold Coast preservationist Joni Fogarty has written a book about John McDonald, the architect of her Prairie Style home at 38th and California Streets in Omaha. McDonald, who Fogarty said “had such a love affair with wood,” also built Joslyn Castle, and his son, Alan, designed the Joslyn Art Museum.

The foyer is Cuban mahogany. The floor has Brazilian cherry. The pocket doors are quartersawn oak.
