SUTTON — The Mother's Day storm system that tracked through eastern Nebraska on Sunday spawned reports of more than a dozen tornadoes and left behind at least a 90-mile path of building destruction, power outages and flooding, but no serious injuries.
Monday morning, by the time Gov. Dave Heineman had seen the third small Nebraska community hit by tornadic winds, he announced that he would issue a state disaster declaration later in the day.
