Legislature roundup: Senators back public school accountability system
Under LB 438, the state must have an accountability system to get a waiver from the federal No Child Left Behind law. Nebraska is one of only four states that have not gotten a waiver.

LINCOLN — Nebraska property owners could get a little bit bigger break on their taxes next year.
The Legislature's Appropriations Committee voted Friday to boost the state's Property Tax Credit Fund by $25 million a year, bringing the annual total to $140 million.
