The following are fundraisers, donations and charitable events happening in the Midlands. Email your information about good deeds to or call 402-444-1040.

Vote Dominick: Dominick Overman is a 16-year-old Council Bluffs resident who lives with his mother and two younger sisters and attends Abraham Lincoln. He plays baseball and participates in many other activities to keep him busy. Dominick is also in a wheelchair and has cerebral palsy, which makes getting him in and out of the car difficult. To help Dominick and his family, visit and click on “Vote for your hero.” When the next page pops up, search for his mom's name — Dena Paladino, Council Bluffs, Iowa. You'll then see a photo of Dominick with his mom's name. Then you can sign up/log in and vote. Voting ends May 9. You can vote once a day. The top four vote-getters win a wheelchair van.
