GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Central Platte Natural Resources District officials are worried that a bill to compensate Republican basin irrigators for lost surface water would take funds from NRD projects under construction.
“There's reason to believe it could come out of our pocket,” Central Platte NRD biologist Mark Czaplewski told the Central Platte board Thursday in Grand Island.
