Flight makes emergency landing in Omaha after captain becomes ill

A United Airlines plane bound for Denver made an emergency landing in Omaha on Monday night when the captain became ill.

Karen May, a spokeswoman for the airline, said that Flight 1637 was en route from Des Moines when it was diverted to Eppley Airfield around 9 p.m. because of the captain’s illness. The first officer landed the Boeing 737 and the captain was taken to an Omaha hospital.
