The IRS has fined Douglas County $12,000 for data-entry errors on a handful of tax documents.
The fine stems from errors on 1099 forms that report interest payments at the Douglas County Health Center and tax certificate investors' filings in the County Treasurer's Office. The reports are compiled by Dot.comm, the county's information technology arm.
