Developer of north downtown hotel seeks OK for occupation tax, entertainment district

A planned hotel, retail and office development in Omaha's north downtown could come with two firsts for the city.
The developer of the project at 10th Street and Capitol Avenue has plans to seek a new occupation tax — and to make the area a recognized entertainment district, which would allow people to carry open alcoholic drinks around the complex.
