LINCOLN — A bill granting an exemption from property taxes to some disabled military veterans came under withering fire from a fellow veteran on Thursday.
But despite opposition from State Sen. Ernie Chambers of Omaha, who served five years in the Army in the 1960s, the measure advanced from first-round debate.
