DES MOINES (AP) — Des Moines police have investigated seven home invasions so far this year, a much busier pace than all of 2013 but one that officials don't believe is a trend.

There were 11 such incidents last year, the Des Moines Register reported. The home invasions that have occurred since the beginning of January do not appear to be connected, and they have not spilled into neighboring suburbs.
