Wrangling over budgets and layoffs has created uncertainty in the ranks of the Omaha Fire Department, the city’s interim fire chief said Thursday.
Bernie Kanger, in the department’s top spot since Chief Mike McDonnell went on administrative leave in late August, said he’s confused, too.
