Council Bluffs officials have made an application for state assistance to fix levees and undertake a major creek rehabilitation project.
An application covering some 200 pages was sent Tuesday evening to officials who oversee the Iowa Flood Mitigation Program, City Engineer Matt Cox said. It's a program that involves returning a portion of a city's annual growth in sales tax revenue for improvements in flood prevention.
