Workers on Tuesday removed the billboard atop a severely damaged building at 4201 Leavenworth St. and temporarily placed the sign in eastbound traffic lanes of Leavenworth Street just west of 42nd Street. A car traveling at a high rate of speed slammed into the building Friday night, knocking down much of the east wall. The driver and passenger were killed. The Public Works Department said traffic on Leavenworth will continue to be restricted from 41st to 43rd Streets.
