As Iowa Juvenile Home closes, group seeks new facility for delinquent girls

DES MOINES (AP) — An association of juvenile court officers wants Iowa to create a new state facility for delinquent girls to replace the Iowa Juvenile Home, which is being closed.

The Iowa Juvenile Court Services Association said girls who once would have been housed at the Toledo home now risk being sent out of state or to temporary shelters that offer little or no treatment, according to the Des Moines Register.
