LINCOLN — Sixteen people have applied for the University of Nebraska Board of Regents seat that LaVon Heidemann vacated when he was named lieutenant governor.
The applicants include former State Sen. Roger Wehrbein of Plattsmouth as well as Mike Jones, a David City insurance agency owner who ran unsuccessfully for the seat last November.
