Plan for apartments at 70th, Cass draws opposition from Fairacres neighbors
The apartment complex proposed for the former Temple Israel site would have 430 apartments. Neighbors say the development would cause traffic problems and hurt property values in the Fairacres neighborhood.

In voting to approve a 70th and Cass Streets apartment proposal Wednesday, the Omaha Planning Board gave greater weight to city planners’ analysis and the developer’s traffic study than to neighborhood opposition.
The plan for apartments on the former Temple Israel site next goes to the Omaha City Council.
