State officials are hoping a new series of videos will get students excited about job opportunities in Nebraska.

These aren’t your typical old filmstrips -- they’re shot in a relaxed, conversational style that tries to appeal to young adults.

The videos discuss the work environment, salaries, education requirements and career opportunities in the fields of IT, manufacturing and transportation. They feature managers at real Nebraska businesses discussing their industries, including representatives of Yahoo!, Hudl, Werner Enterprises and MetalQuest.

Future videos will showcase occupations in the STEM, construction, health sciences and agriculture fields. The videos, online at, were created by the Nebraska Departments of Education, Economic Development and Labor.
