A pair of Union Pacific Railroad executives will assume new positions within the organization on Feb. 1, the company announced.

D. Lynn Kelley has been named vice president of supply and continuous improvement, a position in which she will oversee purchasing, strategic sourcing, and industrial engineering for UP. Kelley was most recently vice president of continuous improvement and has been with the organization since 2011.

Joseph O’Connor, vice president of purchasing, has been named vice president of labor relations. O’Connor’s predecessor, Rick Williams, announced his retirement after 32 years of service with the Omaha-based railroad.

O’Connor will be in charge of negotiating labor agreements and will be the company’s liaison with unionized employees.
