U.S. Cellular and partner King Street Wireless announced today they have launched high-speed 4G LTE services in Nebraska.

A map of the expanded service area is here. At the site, click the button for "data."

The provider said customers in Omaha, Lincoln and other cities will now have access to speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G service, similar to the speed of a cable internet connection.

Other Nebraska cities covered are Beatrice, Bellevue, Columbus, Fremont, Grand Island, Hastings, Holdrege, Kearney, La Vista, Lexington, Nebraska City, Norfolk, North Platte, Ogallala, Papillion, Seward, Wayne, West Point and York.

Chicago-based U.S. Cellular expanded the service to southwest Iowa earlier this month. The provider plans to bring 4G to more Nebraska cities in the future and said 90 percent of its total customers will have access to 4G speeds by the end of the year.
