The Steelcase brand Turnstone plans a 10-day, nine-state road trip through the Midwest in February and March that will award five startups in five cities $20,000 office makeovers.
The contest is for companies with fewer than 100 employees.
“Our Culture@Work in the Heartland campaign is designed to showcase both great startups in Middle America and to help other entrepreneurs see the intimate connection between culture, space and business success,” Turnstone General Manager Kevin Kuske said in a statement.
Departing from its headquarters in Grand Rapids, Mich., the Turnstone bus will surprise one winning business each at stops in Des Moines (Feb. 27), Omaha (Feb. 28) and Kansas City, Mo. (March 1). It’ll also award companies in Chicago and Dallas en route to South by Southwest Interactive in Austin.
Companies have until Feb. 10 to submit an application on Turnstone’s website. To enter, companies must submit photos, answer questions about the company culture and explain how an office makeover would impact them.
Last year, turnstone awarded five businesses $25,000 office makeovers in a nationwide contest. Pella, Iowa, coworking space Veel Hoeden was one of the winners.
