Truckers invited to live radio event today at Werner

Truck drivers in the area are invited to take part in a live radio event Thursday at the headquarters of Werner Enterprises.

From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the SiriusXM Radio show “Road Dog Trucking News” will be broadcast at Werner’s headquarters at 14507 Frontier Road. Hosted Mark Willis, the show will feature guest speakers including Werner’s COO Derek Leathers, executive vice president of driver resources Bob Synowicki and senior vice president of operations Steve Phillips.

The radio show, which aims inform drivers about trucking news, discusses challenges facing truckers today and asks industry leaders to weigh in.

For drivers wanting to attend, a shuttle will be available between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to and from Sapp Bros, located at the Interstate 80 exist 440, and the Flying J, located at the Interstate 80 exit 432. The event will include a free lunch available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a chance to meet Willis.

Werner Enterprises, based in Sarpy County, is one of the largest trucking firms in the nation.
