A new tattoo shop is now open for business in downtown Omaha.

Tenth Sanctum Tattoo, located at 1010 S. Tenth Street, opened Thursday. The shop is owned by Jeremy Cruz, who was formerly an artist at Liquid Courage Tattoo & Body Piercing and wanted to own his own shop.

Three other artists - Dave Koenig, Jay Barnett and Tobias Caballero - have also made the move from Liquid Courage, Cruz said.

Cruz said he and the other artists had all worked at Liquid Courage from between five and 13 years.

He said he chose the space partially because his wife works next door at Rain Salon and he thought it would be nice to be near her.

“Truth be told, I didn’t really look at any other places. The price is right, the amount of space was correct. It just kinda fell into place,” Cruz said.
