Pulaski Bank of St. Louis has opened home mortgage offices in Omaha and Council Bluffs, with seven loan originators between the two cities.

The Omaha office is at One Pacific Place, 1125 S. 103rd St., and the Bluffs office at 1221 E. Pierce St. Pulaski Bank has operated in the St. Louis area for 90 years. It has 13 full-service branches in the St. Louis area and 14 other mortgage offices in Missouri and Kansas.

Alan LaFollette, regional vice president for the Omaha area, said the bank is expanding into Midwestern markets that offer growth potential.

Banks sometimes open loan offices as a prelude to full-service bank branches, but LaFollette said Pulaski Bank Home Lending's plan for the Omaha area does not include taking deposits and providing other full-line banking services.

The new offices' loan officers are from the Omaha area and have extensive experience in the mortgage business, he said. LaFollette, an Omaha resident, has 15 years of finance experience and is a Hastings (Neb.) College graduate.

Since the offices opened Dec. 10, he said, the number and dollar volume of mortgage loans has been “outstanding.”
