Omaha is getting a nonstop flight to Los Angeles once a week.

Southwest Airlines said Monday it would begin Saturday-only nonstop flights between Omaha and Los Angeles International Airport on June 14.

Other airlines have routes to Los Angeles with connections through other cities.

Southwest's schedule calls for Boeing 737s to leave Eppley Airfield at 11:50 a.m. and arrive at 1:10 p.m. Return flights will leave Los Angeles at 11:50 a.m. and arrive in Omaha at 4:10 p.m.

Southwest lists one-way fares as low as $158. The airline also has routes between Omaha and Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose and Sacramento, Calif., and Reno, Nev.

Correction: An earlier version of this story referred to 727s rather than 737s.

Correction: An earlier version of this story listed several routes between Omaha and other cities as nonstop flights.
