Panda Express is planning a new location next door to Raising Cane's at about 70th and Dodge Streets.

Construction has begun on the new store, said spokesman Bob Brownstein, and it's expected to open in mid-August.

The restaurant will feature the company's new “bright and fresh” modern store design concept. It will be about 2,600 square feet with room to seat about 50 guests, Brownstein said.

Panda Express is an international quick-service Chinese restaurant chain with about 1,500 stores, including three in Omaha, one in Papillion and one in Council Bluffs.
