Omaha's LaRue Coffee & Roasterie has acquired a small Des Moines distributor of hot and iced tea, Shangri-La Tea Company, LaRue said.

The acquisition brings LaRue new food service customers in Nebraska and Iowa, mostly locally owned restaurants. LaRue vice president Terry Herr said LaRue can now offer those customers its array of products including coffee and coffee equipment. Herr said his firm typically makes several acquisitions in a year.

"We look forward to developing new long-standing relationships by helping these restaurants serve the very best products to their loyal customers,” he said.
