Glenn’s True Value store will open today in Lincoln at 1265 North Cotner Blvd. in the Piedmont Shopping Center.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. and include refreshments and promotions. The first 300 customers in the door will receive a rake.

Glenn’s True Value is the third Lincoln True Value location owned by Steve Glenn. He has been in the Lincoln hardware business for 12 years.

The store’s opening returns a hardware store to the shopping center after many years, said Bob Price, True Value retail consultant.

The new 8,000-square-foot hardware store is part of a larger $5 million project Glenn is spearheading to revamp the 58-year-old shopping center. When completed later this year, the 50,000-square-foot center will have a new look and configuration.
