Home decor shop Tweed Couch Interiors is relocating and reinventing itself this spring.

The store will close its location at Rockbrook Village on March 28, owner Diane Flynn said. It will reopen in June with a different business model in a 14,000-square-foot renovated barn at 6121 N. 132nd St.

“Tweed is moving. She’s changing, she’s growing ... she’s kind of reinventing herself a little bit,” Flynn said.

Rather than operating a retail storefront seven days a week, Flynn instead will open the new Tweed the first Thursday through Monday of each month, when the store will host pop-up shopping events that will feature other local businesses, such as coffee shops, catering companies or even clothing boutiques.

Flynn said she hopes to create an experience for customers that they won’t find in a shopping center. It will also give her more time to work on interior design and custom furniture work, she said. The online store also will remain.

“It allows me to continue to do what I’m passionate about and what I love to do, but I want it to look different.”
